July 6, 1955The company is founded as Vac‑Hyd Processing Corporation in Detroit, Michigan.
November 6, 1959New facility is opened in Oakville, Ontario, Canada (currentlyVacAero).
July 17, 1961New facility is opened in Torrance California (currently Bodycote).
1963New facility is opened near Montreal, Canada (currently VacAero).
October 26, 1964New industrial heat treating facility is opened in Woburn, Massachusetts.
1965New facility is opened in Indianapolis, Indiana (currently Honeycomb Products).
July 28, 1967New facility is opened in Grand Prairie, Texas (currently Pratt & Whitney).
1970New facility is opened in KaltenKirchen, West Germany (currently KLX).
1975Vac‑Hyd Processing Company, the parent company, is sold to a Dutch firm.
1975After the sale of Vac‑Hyd Processing Company, the brand began offering its own line of furnace equipment. The furnace manufacturing division sees rapid growth in the sales of its vacuum furnaces around the world, along with new capabilities for providing technology transfer and training based on its commercial heat treating and brazing experience.
April 14, 1978New facility is opened in Loyang Industrial Estate, Singapore (currently Pratt & Whitney).
1978Canadian Vac-Hyd Processing is purchased, changing its name to VacAero.
1982Vac‑Hyd (also known as Interturbine) begins dissolving the company by selling off all of its divisions over the next 18 years — most of which are still operational to this day.
1982Vac‑Hyd Detroit becomes Hy‑Vac Technologies.
1997Hy‑Vac Technologies receives its Nadcap accreditation.
1999Hy‑Vac Group is established.
1999Norbert Industries in Sterling Heights, Michigan, is purchased and becomes part of Hy‑Vac Group (currently MB Aerospace).
2000Hy‑Vac Medical Technologies is opened in Collierville, Tennessee, and subsequently becomes part of Hy‑Vac Group (currently Orchid).
2008Norbert Polska in Rzeszów, Poland, is purchased and becomes part of Hy‑Vac Group under Norbert Industries (currently MB Aerospace).
2014Hy‑Vac Group sells its facilities in Tennessee, Poland, and Sterling Heights, Michigan.
2016Hy‑Vac in Detroit changes ownership and shifts focus back to its original core business of being an industry expert in metallurgical processing. Hy‑Vac Technologies moves forward with the addition of new equipment and processes to cover customers complete heat treating needs all in one facility. Hy‑Vac stays committed to a total quality management system that will move the company forward over the next 60 years.
